Ganga's mother Bachu died while giving birth to her.
Her father is an alcoholic and did not care for her so she lived with her uncle.
Ganga comes from the Humla District situated in the far north west of Nepal and is one of the least developed and most remote areas of the country.
Due to the severe poverty of her family and no opportunity to receive an education, Ganga, through the support of a local organisation was brought to Kathmandu to be looked after and educated. She has been living the last 6 months in a school hostel and attending kindergarten. We have been approached to help secure Ganga's position in the school and hostel with financial support. The school is good, the hostel is good, and we think this is a great opportunity for us to support Ganga, and her school and ensure she stays in a safe environment and can start grade prep this coming year.
Ganga is a lovely, engaging girl who loves learning and has picked up the English language very quickly. She loves playing with the other girls in the hostel.
